“ Food & service were both really really good. We had to literally pull ourselves away from the appetizer. These big 'ol tater tots, think of twice baked potatoes are sooooo yummy. We did place our order and found it filling and equally yummy. Wish there was one of these restaurants in our home town in Oklahoma. Very much recommend this place. Next time we're in International Falls, MN. Enjoy!! ”
“ Whimsically named restaurant. Not sure why people rated it 3.5 stars, food was solid. We tried their smothered chicken and wild rice - SO good! Lots of smothered dishes tend to be overly salty and too rich, but this one was perfectly salt levels (flavorful without feeling too unhealthy) and the gravy was smooth and flavorful without hijacking the dish. The wild rice was amazing. I usually hate wild rice, and this is the first wild rice I've ever liked. It was cooked in a way I didn't recognize - the rice was curling into itself, which made for a lovely springy texture. Mushrooms and onions were also cut into aesthetically pleasing slices. Big winner! We also got their specialty salad with crispy chicken. Poppy seed dressing was delicious though a tad sweet. Crispy chicken is battered, not breaded. Very yummy, worth the extra two bucks. Strawberries were fresh and candied pecans + mandarin oranges were also sweet. Definitely a sweet salad. For dessert, we got the brownie and lemon meringue pie. Brownie was as advertised - fudgy chocolaty goodness surrounded by vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Lemon meringue pie was more deconstructed, with the graham crumb crust on the wide and served with mounds of whipped cream. Crust was cronchy and lemon filling was sweet but still tart. Plus our waitress Alison was courteous and responsive! ”

“ After stopping at the Bronko Nagurski Museum we needed some lunch and finding very few viable options in International Falls we decided on The Chocolate Moose. The first thing we noticed as we entered the building was a hand written note stating that customers should be patient with the employees who decided to show up for work so that told us it would take quite a while to recieve your order. We really liked the theme of the place, very up north like & charming. We ordered the Monte Cristo & the Clubhouse sandwich with 2 substitutions ( waffle fries & a bowl of soup ) as predicted it did take a while to get our food but everything was hot and tasted great! Although they were under staffed the ones who were there did a nice job & we definitely will come back for lunch or dinner next time we find ourselves in International falls. ”
